Automatic Ball Collector Robot is a Capstone Project that Ahmet Özer, Mert Büyükdoğan, and İdil Verda Tekin prepared for the 2023 Bahcesehir University.
It focuses on modern technologies such as cloud-based Artificial Intelligence and IoT.

Aim of project

The aim of the project is to design a system with a portable size that can be affordable with the help of modern technologies for the automation system.

How it can be small ?

Thanks to the low power of the computer systems to be used in the project and the appropriately designed hardware equipment(3D printed case, collection mechanism, tires…), the system is smaller and can operate for a longer period of time compared to other equipment in the literature.

How it can be cost-effective ?

In the system, There is no high-end computing unit placed for AI computing instead, cloud remote shared resources are used. Physical resources on robot and cloud integration done with lightweight embedded MCUs.

How is automated ?

In this project, the control data plane is placed in the cloud, and with the help of object detection, and maneuver algorithms system automatically detects the targets and creates a path to the targets. If you want, you can also control the unit through the web console.
